CHEN YANG is not only a mother of two kids but also a female entrepreneur and an investor. In 2022, she relocated from Beijing to Shenzhen with a team of young doctoral researchers from the U.S. She established Zhongke Arno Bio Science Technology Co. Ltd. in the Weiguang Life Science Park in Guangming Science City with secured funds, embarking on a journey of innovation and entrepreneurship.










她叫陈阳，是两个孩子的母亲、女企业家和投资人，从北京到深圳，2022年带领留美十多年的青年博士团队和资金奔赴光明科学城，在卫光生命科学园创建了中科阿尔诺生物科技有限公司，开启了创新创业征程。

She is captivated by the spirit of Shenzhen, and is drawn to Guangming Science City. Her prior investments in synthetic biology enterprises in Shenzhen have exposed her to the remarkable growth and the dynamic “speed” and “strength” of the synthetic biology industry in the city. Guangming Science City, as the pioneering and launching area of the comprehensive national scientific center in the Greater Bay Area, serves as a magnet for high-level talents from home and abroad. It stands as an innovative hub for synthetic biology, with great industrial support policies, which is one of the key reasons why she chose Guangming.










深圳精神吸引着她、光明科学城吸引着她。几年前她曾投资深圳合成生物学企业，这些企业爆发式的增长，让她切身感受到了深圳合成生物学产业的“速度”和“力度”。光明科学城是大湾区综合性国家科学中心的先行启动区、海内外高层次人才的聚集地、合成生物学的创新高地，十分重视合成生物学技术研究和企业发展，制定了一系列产业支持政策，这是她选择光明的原因之一。










Synthetic biology is an interdisciplinary field that integrates the knowledge systems and research methods of traditional biology, engineering and mathematics. It encompasses various disciplines such as biotechnology, evolutionary biology, genetic engineering, molecular biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, biophysics and computer science. With significant strategic importance, the technology of synthetic biology is recognized as one of the top 10 technologies poised to reshape the world in the future. It also presents an opportunity for China to gain a competitive edge in various technological aspects.










合成生物学是跨学科的专业，它**了传统生物学、工程学及数学的知识体系和研究方法，包括生物技术、进化生物学、基因工程、分子生物学、生物信息学、系统生物学、生物物理及计算机科学等。合成生物学技术具有重大的战略意义，被誉为未来改变世界的十大技术之一，也是我国在技术上弯道超车的机会。

Chen witnessed that American scientists had successfully constructed a cell factory with a production capacity of active substances reaching a 100-cubic-meter industrial fermentation tank, which is equivalent to 50,000 mu (3,333.33 hectares) of agricultural planting. She realized that replacing agricultural planting with cell factories could significantly increase production efficiency and reduce dependence on natural resources, and made a decision to establish a cell factory in China. As a result, Zhongke Arno Bio Science Technology Co. Ltd. was founded, integrating laboratories, innovation workshops, and applied innovation research institutes.










陈阳见到美国科学家成功构建细胞工厂生产活性物质，100立方米工业发酵罐的产能就相当于5万亩的农业种植，用细胞工厂替代农业种植，大幅提高了生产效能，减少了对自然资源的依赖。她暗暗下定决心，要建立中国的细胞工厂。于是，一个集实验室、创新工场和应用创新研究院于一体的中科阿尔诺生物公司诞生了。










Zhongke Arno specializes in the research, development and production of bioactive substances, focusing on paramylon, probiotics, prebiotics and natural terpenoid products, among others. The company was aimed to develop and produce functional foods and co**etics, as well as provide innovative raw materials with anti-aging, anti-tumor, and immune-enhancing properties.










中科阿尔诺深耕合成生物学领域，专注于研发生产以抗衰老、抗肿瘤、提高免疫力为目标的生物活性物质原料，目前以裸藻多糖/β-葡聚糖、益生菌、合生元、萜类天然产物等为主，致力于为营养保健、医美护肤和新药研发等提供创新型原料和解决方案，服务全球的功能性食品、化妆品、医药制造企业和相关终端用户。










When it comes to Guangming District’s policies regarding biopharmaceutical enterprises, Chen believes that Guangming’s policies such as “Several measures to support the integrated development of synthetic biological innovation chain and industry chain” are remarkably practical and effective. Guangming District Government officials pay great attention to synthetic biology enterprises. Wu Zhaoling, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Guangming District People’s Congress, along with other representatives, visited Zhongke Arno, expressing their strong interest and encouragement for the company to continue its exploration and innovation, and to strive for new achievements. Chen believes that policy formulation is crucial, but effective implementation of these policies is even more important.










谈到光明区对合成生物学企业的政策时，陈阳认为，光明区“关于支持合成生物创新链产业链融合发展的若干措施”等政策，操作性很强。光明区各级领导对合成生物学企业高度关注，光明区人大常委会副主任武肇玲携人大代表亲临中科阿尔诺视察调研，希望公司不断开拓创新、再上新的台阶。陈阳认为，制定政策很重要，政策落地更重要！

When talking about the primary obstacle to the company’s development in Guangming, Chen said she agreed with Ren Zhengfei, founder of telecom giant Hua, that the lack of crisis awareness poses the most significant challenge to enterprise growth. Since its establishment, Zhongke Arno has always emphasized the importance of being vigilant and proactive. The company places a strong emphasis on technological innovation while also demanding a high level of vigilance and crisis awareness from its employees.










谈到公司在光明发展最大的障碍，陈阳说，很认同任正非的看法，任正非认为，企业发展的最大障碍是危机意识淡薄。做企业如逆水行舟，不进则退。中科阿尔诺自成立以来，一直强调居安思危，突出技术创新上的“一招先”，强调应用一批、研发一批、储备一批，要求员工始终保持高度的危机意识。
